Did you know

The title screen has a little card in its top corner now, with forty true tips about the game. It shows you the things you haven't tried yet first, and you can turn it off in Settings.

The Voxel City title screen, the island town at golden hour, the menu on the left and a Did you know card in the top right corner over a Carry on card.

The title screen had an empty corner. Top right, over the island, there was nothing much going on, and I kept thinking it was a good spot to tell people things they might not have found yet.

So now there's a small card there. It says Did you know, then one tip, like pressing 0 for the Select tool and clicking anything in the city to find out about it. There are forty of them, and every one is true in the current build.

Open a larger picture. The title screen's Did you know card in English, German, Finnish and Russian.
The same card in four of the 26 languages.

Untried things first

The card is a bit clever about which tip it picks. The game remembers which tools, views and windows you've already used, and tips about those go to the back of the queue. So the first tips you see are about the things you haven't tried. If you've never opened the Underground view, you'll hear that it shows buried roads, pipes, cables and rail all in one place long before you're told about a tool you use every day. Others say that a full landfill can be capped and turned into a hill park, or that dragging Double Track over a railway lets trains pass each other anywhere along it.

Another tip, at the bottom of the card, fades to the next one. And if you'd rather have the island to yourself, Settings has a Show tips on the title screen switch on the Game tab.

Small fixes

On a small window, where the card would touch the Carry on card, it hides instead. While I was in there I also fixed the Carry on caption in one language, where it had been translated a word at a time and came out half in English.
